The complimentary Meet & Greet is part of every first booking with a dog or other pet. It’s an important part in the process which helps me get to know the pet I’ll be working with or looking after, and to make sure they get along with me as well.
The Meet & Greet is aimed to be about 30–60 minutes long. However, I would not want to rush through things that are important, so the initial meeting may take longer. There will be no charge for longer consultations. In some cases it may also be shorter.
What happens exactly during the Meet & Greet depends on the type of pet and service provided, but generally it will include the following:
Meeting your pet
Understanding their personality and / or behaviour, interacting with or handling them, so they can get a feel as well.
Going through details
Discussing the service expected, any add-ons, the total cost and price breakdown, setting up payment, etc.
Discussing your pet’s needs
Going through important information like medications, feeding plans, walking times, etc. depending on service.
Asking any questions you may have
A chance to ask any questions or make additional requests regarding your pet’s care and / or safety.
Optional: Admin & Paperwork
Going over contract, filling out and signing any necessary forms, handing over keys, etc.
This may also be done at a later point if you’d first like to think about everything.
I will share my free Welcome Guide with you during or after the M&G, entailing everything about TippyTaps, including Services, Prices, and T&Cs. I usually have a copy with me at Meet & Greets which I am happy to leave with you, or I can send you a link to the PDF for you to download and keep.
If you are not immediately ready to sign on during the Meet & Greet, please feel free to request some time to think about it. It’s important to me that you’re 100% sure about leaving your pet in my care, and I will absolutely understand if you need some time to go over everything.
You can then get in touch whenever is convenient to let me know if you’d like to go ahead.
As I may keep spaces reserved for your pet, please also let me know if you changed your mind and do not want to go ahead so I can free up the spaces for someone else.
The Meet & Greet is mandatory
Please note that I can’t provide any services for pets I have not met in advance.
For their safety and mine it is vital to get to know each other before spending any amount of time together without their owner present. Depending on the service and pet, I may ask to spend a few minutes alone with them to see how they react if their owner isn’t there to reassure them.
Please also note that if there are any problems and / or the pet and me don’t seem to be getting along (which is very rare but can happen as both pets and people have their own personalities, and personalities can clash), I may decide not to care for them. This will be in the pet’s and my best interest. Any payment that has been made at this point will be refunded in full.
Meet & Greets are only necessary ahead of the first Service. Any subsequent Services within a year don’t require another M&G unless the pet’s behaviour or situation have changed. You are still more than welcome to request one, though.
