Frequently Asked Questions
How does payment work? |
For owners who have regular bookings I send an invoice in the last week of the month, including all Services provided during that same month. Invoices are payable within 7 days of receipt, usually by around the 3rd of the following month. For Pet Sitting longer than 2 days, I usually require payment upfront. For one-off services of any kind, billing and invoicing depend on several factors and will be discussed during Meet & Greets. |
Does TippyTaps cater to pets other than dogs? |
Yes! Although TippyTaps is mainly catering to dogs, pet visits and pet / house sitting services are available for other pets as well. I have personal experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, bearded dragons, and tortoises. |
How many dogs do you walk at a time? |
I walk one dog at a time. This is because as an aspiring trainer I prefer spending one on one time with the dogs I care for. I can give them my full attention, get to know their personalities, and engage them properly for the entire walk, whether that includes training or just play. Pair or small group walks are available for multi dog households or dogs who live close and know each other (e.g. neighbours). |
Can I specify a particular time for my dog to be walked? |
Yes – whenever possible I try to stick to the times we agreed on. However it is possible that times shift in either direction. If I’ll be more than 45 minutes early or late, I will try and let you know. |
How long are the walks? |
My walks are one hour long. For very young, older, or injured dogs we can agree shorter walks. For dogs who need more exercise, I’m also happy to do 1.5 or 2 hours. The cost will be adjusted pro rata in most cases (discussed during M&G). |
My dog is nervous around other dogs, will you be able to walk him? |
Yes! I provide my Solo Walk & Plays to be inclusive of exactly this kind of dog. If your dog is nervous of or reactive towards other dogs please let me know so I can keep them, myself, and other dogs comfortable and safe while we’re out. |
Do I need to be at home when you collect or drop off my dog? |
No, you don’t need to be at home if I can still access your dog while you’re out. This can be through a neighbour, someone else in the house, or by providing me with a key to access your home at the time of the walk. |
Can I just have occasional walks? |
Absolutely! The Meet & Greet is only necessary prior to the first walk. After that, you may get in touch whenever you’d like me to walk your dog – preferrably at least 24 hours in advance. There are discounts for regularly scheduled walks but I’m always happy to walk dogs only as needed (provided I have a free slot). I also offer Packages which include a little discount if you purchase 15 hours of walks or more, which can be used for Ad-hoc walks. |
How are dogs picked up? |
I have no car and pick the dogs up on foot. This is why ideally an adequate walking space should be within a 10–15 minute walk from your home, as the time walking to and from a park, field, etc. will usually count as part of the 60 minutes. |
Can my dog stay with you? |
I live in a house full of various different pets, so I currently don’t offer boarding for dogs or any other pets, but I am more than happy to keep your pet(s) company by staying in your home while you are away. |
Your question wasn’t covered?
No worries! Just send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
